Strauss, Gregory P.; Allen, Daniel N.; Jorgensen, Melinda L.; Cramer, Stacey L. – Assessment, 2005
Previous studies have examined the reliability of scores derived from various Stroop tasks. However, few studies have compared reliability of more recently developed Stroop variants such as emotional Stroop tasks to standard versions of the Stroop. The current study developed four different single-stimulus Stroop tasks and compared test-retest…

Peer reviewedJohnson, Mark E.; Fisher, Dennis G.; Rhodes, Fen; Booth, Robert – Assessment, 1996
The Wide Range Achievement Test-Revised and the Woodcock Reading Mastery Tests-Revised were administered twice to 269 current drug abusers over an average time interval of 204.2 days. Overall, the study demonstrates that the two instruments have strong psychometric properties and that results from current drug abusers are reliable. (SLD)

Measuring Depression at the End of Life: Is the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale a Valid Instrument?
Olden, Megan; Rosenfeld, Barry; Pessin, Hayley; Breitbart, William – Assessment, 2009
Depression at the end of life is a common mental health issue with serious implications for quality of life and decision making. Peer reviewedPaolo, Anthony M.; Axelrod, Bradley N.; Troster, Alexander I. – Assessment, 1996
Eighty-seven normal older people were administered the Wisconsin Sorting Test on two occasions averaging over a year apart. There were average retest gains of 5 to 7 standard score points. The standard error of prediction, standard error of difference, and abnormal test-retest discrepancy scores were calculated for clinical use. (SLD)

Peer reviewedBirchler, Gary R.; Fals-Stewart, William – Assessment, 1994
The Response to Conflict Scale, a 24-item measure of maladaptive responses to marital conflict, was evaluated psychometrically with 420 couples. The inventory showed high internal consistency, test-retest reliability, construct and discriminant validity, and classification efficiency. Clinical utility is discussed. (SLD)

Reig-Ferrer, Abilio; Cepeda-Benito, Antonio; Snyder, Douglas K. – Assessment, 2004
This study examined psychometric characteristics of the Spanish translation of the Marital Satisfaction Inventory-Revised (MSI-R) in a community sample of 205 couples from Spain. Overall, analyses of the scales' internal consistency compared favorably with findings for both the English and Spanish versions of this instrument with U.S. samples.…
