Evaluates productive usage of 48 adult subjects of the causative verbs "bring" and "take." Results reveal that one quarter of the subjects employed standard usage and one third employed a "bring" over-extension, while the rest did not routinely employ standard, deictically based source or goal distinctions. On-Line Sentence Interpretation in Spanish-English Bilinguals: What Does It Mean to Be "in Between"?

Investigates the real-time costs of sentence processing in early Spanish-English bilinguals. Bilinguals use an amalgam of monolingual strategies in choosing the agent of a sentence. The reaction time data reveal a larger language-specific component than the choice data. (37 references) (Author/CK)
