Mandeville, Garrett K. – American Educational Research Journal, 1972
Results of this study suggest that certain kinds of treatment differences may be better uncovered by viewing test data in a repeated measures format. (Author/MB)
Descriptors: Data Analysis, Data Collection, Factor Structure, Mathematical Models

Cahen, Leonard S.; Linn, Robert L. – American Educational Research Journal, 1971
Johnson-Neyman, Potthoff, and Erlander and Gustavsson techniques for obtaining confidence regions for the difference between regression surfaces are compared. (DG)
Descriptors: Aptitude Treatment Interaction, Grouping (Instructional Purposes), Interaction Process Analysis, Mathematical Models

Walberg, Herbert J. – American Educational Research Journal, 1971
Similarities between regression analysis and analysis of variance are noted and it is argued that the former has advantages over the latter. It is also argued that canonical correlation analysis is more suitable than factor analysis in certain cases. The argument is illustrated with four recent pieces of educational research. (DG)
Descriptors: Analysis of Covariance, Analysis of Variance, Correlation, Factor Analysis

Keith, Timothy Z.; Page, Ellis B. – American Educational Research Journal, 1985
High School and Beyond data set and path analytic techniques were used to compare Black and Hispanic high school seniors' achievement in public and in Catholic schools. When better ability measures were added to the causal models the apparent effect of Catholic schooling on minority achievement was greatly reduced. (Author/BS)
Descriptors: Academic Achievement, Black Students, Catholic Schools, High School Seniors
