Informal Tests for Diagnosing Specific Reading Problems.
Pavlak, Stephen A.
Providing 66 ready-to-use informal diagnostic tests and other evaluative aids, this book helps reading specialists and classroom teachers identify students' individual reading problems to prescribe effective corrective or remedial instruction. Each test in the book is printed in a full-page format and is ready to duplicate as many times as needed for use with individual students, small groups, or an entire class. Sequenced in the order in which they would generally be used, the informal diagnostic aids in the book cover the basic skill areas of phonic analysis (17 tests), structural analysis (17 tests), and comprehension (18 tests), at the primary and intermediate levels, as well as survival reading skills (14 tests), at the intermediate and upper levels. An individual pupil checklist of reading skills, child interview forms, parent interview forms, interest inventories, and attitude surveys are also included in the book. (RS)
