A study was performed to identify and evaluate characteristics, properties, and attributes of teaching cases that provide value to students. The items identified can be used to create an instrument to evaluate teaching cases during the review process for publication or by instructors to identify cases that would be most appropriate for courses.

The Content Validation Form is presented as a means of proving that occupational tests provide a representative work sample or knowledge, skill, or ability necessary for a job. It is best used during test construction by a panel of subject matter experts. (SK)

Specific suggestions include the study of reports on test performance, item analysis on classroom tests, item analysis as a part of standardized test reports, use of diagnostic or inventory tests, and careful selection of test items.
