Blank, Jason M.; McGaughey, Karen J.; Keeling, Elena L.; Thorp, Kristen L.; Shannon, Conor C.; Scaramozzino, Jeanine M. – College & Research Libraries, 2016
Expertise in searching and evaluating scientific literature is a requisite skill of trained scientists and science students, yet information literacy instruction varies greatly among institutions and programs. To ensure that science students acquire information literacy skills, robust methods of assessment are needed. Here, we describe a novel…

McKinley, Danette W.; Hess, Brian J.; Boulet, John R.; Lipner, Rebecca S. – Advances in Health Sciences Education, 2014
Changes in certification requirements and examinee characteristics are likely to influence the validity of the evidence associated with interpretations made based on test data. Peer reviewedWaller, Niels G.; And Others – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1991
The structural and external validity of the Tridimensional Personality Questionnaire (TPQ) and the relations among TPQ lower-order and higher-order scales and those of the Multidimensional Personality Questionnaire were examined. Results for 1,236 adults support the TPQ's validity but indicate its failure to operationalize portions of the…

Peer reviewedO'Sullivan, Michael J.; Jemelka, Ron P. – Psychological Assessment, 1993
Levels of hostility and type of crime were compared in 94 male offenders with 3-4 or 4-3 Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) high point pairs and in randomly selected offenders without these pairs. Results do not support these codes as evidence of a proclivity for violence. (SLD)

Rowe, Helga A. H. – 1980
The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children - Revised (WISC-R) and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) were administered in counter-balanced order to 81 children aged 7-12 in New South Wales, Australia. Canonical correlation analysis showed the total redundancy values of WISC-R given WISC and WISC given WISC-R to be .58 and .61…

Peer reviewedBoyle, Gregory J. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1987
Canonical-redundancy analyses were computed across the Profile of Mood States and the Eight State Questionnaire on a sample of 289 college undergraduates in order to estimate the degree of measurement overlap of the two multidimensional mood-state instruments. (Author/BS)

Johnson, Todd E. – Education, 2007
The purpose of this study was to understand the relationship of student entry data to current English language learning status. District-level data was obtained for 1,942 K-5 native Spanish-speaking elementary-level students administered the oral Spanish and English Language Assessment Scale (Pre-LAS). Canonical correlation analysis was used to…

Peer reviewedSchaefer, Lyn; And Others – Applied Measurement in Education, 1992
Studied methods for structuring a performance domain for a certification test in emergency nursing based on task frequency ratings from 659 emergency nurses or task similarity ratings from 21 experts. A 125-job analysis survey was used. Similarity judgment results are more easily interpreted and adequately modeled by multivariate analysis. (SLD)

Van Epps, Pamela D.; Thompson, Bruce – 1990
The measurement integrity of M. A. Rahim's Organizational Conflict Inventory (ROCI-II) and D. M. Roussel's Managerial Frames of Mind Survey (MFMS) was investigated, as was the relationship between scores on the two measures. This investigation examined the three-year stability of WISC-R IQs for a balanced sample of Anglo, Black, and Mexican-American handicapped children. No significant differences in mean IQs were found across the three ethnic groups, although WISC-R Verbal and Performance IQs varied significantly over the test-retest period. (Author/BS)
