Performance on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised was compared for reflective and impulsive children, aged 8-11. Reflective children scored higher on the attention-concentration and visual organization subtests. There were no significant differences in verbal comprehension. (Author/GDC)

The results showed that accuracy depended on both stimulus complexity, modality, and mental age, regardless of whether or not the Ss were retarded. The selection of haptic search styles also depended on these factors but, in addition, was influenced by the intellectual status of the children. (Author/DLS)

The concurrent and discriminant validity of La Prueba de Analisis Auditivo, a Spanish auditory perception test, and the validity of the perceptual deficit hypothesis and of hypotheses derived from verbal processing theory were evaluated in a sample of 114 second-grade Hispanic pupils receiving reading instruction in Spanish.
