Ninety-five secondary students were given textbook material in which two sequence variations (web and linear) were used in relation to the information processing strategies (serialist or holistic) demonstrated by the students. Describes study that investigated the roles of locus of control and learner control over sequencing of content and the ability of undergraduate students to locate and retain information in computer-based instruction.
