Higher education students with dyslexia are generally under enormous emotional pressure. The fear of getting exposed as "stupid" leads many of them to isolate themselves and avoid social contact with their peers. The unity and sisterhood of women in South Africa is analyzed. The struggle for liberation from apartheid has resulted in the death of many children. Women have organized self-help groups in the memory of these children. The groups make handicrafts, give aid to the poor, and encourage educational pursuits. (VM)
