Three art activities are described. Junior and senior high school students carved kachina dolls from blocks of wood, junior high school students created table sculptures from old bottles, and senior high students made richly colored face-plates. (RM)

Described is an art course in which fifth-grade students made masks using low fire whiteware as the medium. (RM)

High school students in an advanced ceramics class made chess sets, using a wood pattern to make pawns for the sets. The class found that using a pattern increased efficiency and speed. (RM)

To help them get the cylindrical shape necessary for making pottery beer mugs, high school art students used flexible armatures stuffed with vermiculite. (RM)

Working in small groups, fifth graders designed and made a ceramic title mural that became a permanent display in the school entryway. The project is described. (RM)

Introduced is a course to teach integrated product development and to help make the shift from university to real practice. Discusses the course "Teaching Creative Machine Design," practical course guides, two examples of projects, and some consequences of the course. (YP)

High school students enrolled in a Spanish language class heightened their awareness of the Mexican people by studying and discussing Mexican crafts. Working in the style used by the Mexicans, they designed and made their own art products. (RM)

A four-day project which involved kindergarten and first-grade classes in making a collection of animals from clay is described. (RM)
