Final Report on Activities of U.S. Schools of Public Health, 1974-1979.
Association of Schools of Public Health, Washington, DC.
This document reports the two projects of the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH) to implement a data collection system which would obtain data on the production of public health manpower for evaluation, analysis, and dissemination as uniform, reliable information. Most of the report is composed of the compiled results of the statistical forms which were developed, mailed to the schools of public health, and returned to the ASPH Data Center which served as a central point of the aggregation of school data. These forms included individual forms to be completed by faculty and students and aggregate forms on all other data subjects: applicants, graduates, expenditure reports, and research activities. Summary of the data and information produced is presented under these sections: applicants, new enrollments, total students, graduates, faculty, expenditures in schools of public health, and research in schools of public health. Brief narratives detailing arrangement of data and summary characteristics accompany the data tables. Other activities of the ASPH Data Center which are discussed include (1) development of cost of education estimates and (2) nomenclature and classification of education programs in schools of public health. Appendixes contain the statistical forms used by the project. (YLB)
