A directory on unionization among college faculty for 1979 is presented. It is noted that faculty unionization continues to grow at a stabilized annual rate of approximately 20 new bargaining agents per year. By the end of 1979, 406 faculty unions were recognized as having bargaining agents for faculty and staff and more than 330 collective bargaining agreements are in effect in United States institutions. Information is given on faculty contracts and bargaining agents by state and on no agent votes. Data are also provided separately for private institutions and public institutions. The status of state collective bargaining legislation is covered, as are faculty contracts and bargaining agents for Canada. An alphabetical list of United States and Canadian institutions is included. (SW)
