Directory of Faculty Contracts and Bargaining Agents in Institutions of Higher Education.

Statistical data and a descriptive summary of the data on faculty contracts and bargaining agents are presented. The following information is provided for colleges listed by state: number of campuses, type of college, size of bargaining unit for 1977-78, the current bargaining agent, the year the current agent was elected, the year the initial contract was signed, and the expiration date of the current contract. A list of colleges voting no agent, and a summary list of elections for 1978 are presented. Statistics are given on agents and contracts for specific unions, and data are provided for private and public colleges. Information is also presented on the status of state collective bargaining legislation. An alphabetical list of colleges and universities is included. It is shown that a total of 382 bargaining agents have been elected, with public colleges accounting for 302 and private colleges, 80; 119 for four-year universities, and 251, two-year. (SW)
