Math Programs That Work: A National Survey. Third Edition.
Lachat, Mary Ann; And Others
This directory reviews 26 diagnostic-prescriptive mathematics programs. Twelve of the programs are complete mathematics programs; the remaining fourteen are supplementary programs. The programs are designed for use in one or a combination of grade levels from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve in addition to one program designed for adults. Each program is outlined according to: (1) nature, purposes, and rationale of program; (2) organization of program; (3) material provided for student, teacher, and classroom activities; (4) implementation requirements and provisions including cost of program; (5) the present status of the program; (6) how the program was evaluated along with strengths and weaknesses; and (7) where the program can be obtained. In addition, a Program Profile Matrix includes salient features of the individual programs and can be matched to descriptors of current program needs. (MN)
