This bibliography presents a list of approximately 360 works of children's and young adult's literature that deal with illness issues or issues connected with adverse life conditions such as various forms of child abuse, alcoholism, AIDS, blindness, cancer, death, handicaps, suicide, and surgery. The bibliography is divided into 42 sections, each dealing with a specific illness or condition. Most of the items in the bibliography were published between 1970 and 1992, and each item in the bibliography includes an estimate of the appropriate age range for its readers. (RS)
