Summarizes the 1993-94 Quality Education Data survey of computer use in instruction, using data from 78 percent of the nation's 83,897 public schools. In 1983-84, only 67 percent of schools used computer-based instruction; by 1990-91, the figure was 98 percent. The aging Apple II computer dominates. Rapid technological developments and decreasing prices encourage increased usage. (MLH)
