Sage Research Methods Cases
This case study shares the lessons learned from the data collection phase of my research project, specifically the use of online interviews with stimulus material. My research explores secondary school teachers' perceptions of and experiences with moral education in the United Kingdom and uses current government policies regarding the moral development of the students as the framework of moral education. Therefore, I decided to conduct interviews to gather in-depth information, and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I designed my research to use online interviews. Also, to open the discussions and enrich the data, I designed interactive stimulus material showing the current policies that I focused on. In this case study, I focused on the data collection stage only, explaining how I designed the interview questions and interactive material, how I recruited participants with a snowball approach, and how I planned and conducted the interviews, along with the planning and implementation phases. This case also shares how the selected methods worked for me and which challenges I faced during the data collection process. [This content is provided in the format of an e-book.]
