Stories include: a moose hunt; life in the old days (skin tents and clothing); hunting; traveling as a child; traveling in the Porcupine country; sickness; old-time clothing; life in the old days; traveling, marriages, and a tragedy; traveling up the Porcupine River; traveling around Graphite, and curing by a medicine man; burial customs; skin-tanning, rabbit-snaring, and old-time cooking; old-time household furnishings and the coming of cloth, and muskrat hunting and the coming of guns; hunting in the old days; marriage then and now; Belle's marriage; the arrival of white people; care of the sick; family history and life in the old days; rabbit-skin blankets; some notable people and the coming of Christianity; religion, fishtraps, the coming of airplanes, and how a young man got a wife; another marriage story, and old-time dishes and cooking; and life in the old days, brush men, and the coming of religion.
