A survey identifying the nature and levels of volunteer work contributed by social work educators is reported. Nearly all educators engage in formal volunteer work and perform a variety of roles in human service agencies. Tenure status and primary teaching area are positively associated with amount and type of volunteer work. (Author/MSE)

As student populations change, so do the students who volunteer for cocurricular activities. The challenges for campus activities organizers include recruiting older students and providing adequate rewards for volunteering. Students can be attracted by emphasizing the job-related aspects of volunteer jobs or offering course credit. (MSE)
