The Test Analysis Program (TAP) is a comprehensive, flexible computer system designed to score and to analyze objective educational tests. The goals of the designers were to construct a program which would be user-oriented, flexible, and clear in structure and in output. (Author/JKS)

Peer reviewedRindskopf, David – Psychometrika, 1983
Various models have been proposed for analyzing dichotomous test or questionnaire items which were constructed to reflect an assumed underlying structure (e.g., hierarchical). This paper shows that many such models are special cases of latent class analysis and discusses a currently available computer program to analyze them. (Author/JKS)

Peer reviewedMorris, John D. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
A computer program which creates and stores a cumulative item covariance matrix upon each administration of an instrument is described. Use of this program would facilitate keeping a constant log on reliability in situations in which the test is administered to different groups over a period of time. (Author/JKS)

Peer reviewedVegelius, Jan – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
The computer program WEIGAN makes the weighted G analysis available for computer users. The input and output of the program are described. (Author/JKS)

Peer reviewedHsu, Tse-chi; Nitko, Anthony J. – Educational Measurement: Issues and Practice, 1983
Microcomputer software for computer-assisted classroom testing is reviewed. The teacher and classroom are emphasized in applying computer technology. The major issues are identification of appropriate classroom testing microcomputer applications; identification of available microcomputer testing software; techniques for software evaluation; and…

Peer reviewedCudeck, Robert; And Others – Applied Psychological Measurement, 1979
TAILOR, a computer program which implements an approach to tailored testing, was examined by Monte Carlo methods. The evaluation showed the procedure to be highly reliable and capable of reducing the required number of tests items by about one half. (Author/JKS)
Descriptors: Adaptive Testing, Computer Programs, Feasibility Studies, Item Analysis
Green, Douglas W.; Hering, Jeffrey – Creative Computing, 1979
A computer program for analyzing test results is presented. Item analysis and the point biserial correlation coefficient, both generated by this program, are explained and discussed. (MK)

Tinari, Frank D. – Improving College and University Teaching, 1979
Computerized analysis of multiple choice test items is explained. Examples of item analysis applications in the introductory economics course are discussed with respect to three objectives: to evaluate learning; to improve test items; and to help improve classroom instruction. Problems, costs and benefits of the procedures are identified. (JMD)
