Williams, Ashley M.; Young, Jamaal – International Journal of Education in Mathematics, Science and Technology, 2021
The purpose of this systematic review was to characterize the implementation of reliability generalization meta-analytic (RGM) practices within mathematics education-related empirical research. RGM studies are used to investigate and generalize the reliability of a measure across various studies. An exhaustive literature search was conducted to…

Dermitzaki, Irini; Stavroussi, Panayiota; Bandi, Maria; Nisiotou, Ioulia – Evaluation and Research in Education, 2008
The aim of this study was to investigate to what extent students with mild mental retardation exhibit strategic behaviour during problem solving and to investigate the relationships between the ongoing behaviours examined and the students' respective performance. Eleven students with non-organic mild mental retardation participated in the study.…

Peer reviewedScott, Norman A. – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1980
Tested the discrimination of the MMPI Beall-Panton escape index by applying it to a sample of minimum security incarcerated female felons. The index did not differentiate significantly between escapees and nonescapees. Differentiation between the groups did occur when MMPI clinical and validity scales were considered separately. (Author)

Peer reviewedNowinski, Joseph K.; LoPiccolo, Joseph – Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy, 1979
The role of formal assessment in the practice of sex therapy with couples is discussed. A case is made for the use of behaviorally oriented paper-and-pencil tests of the self-report variety in clinical settings. Such procedures yield information relevant to diagnosis. (Author)
Descriptors: Behavior Patterns, Clinical Diagnosis, Counselors, Psychological Testing
Peer reviewedHeiby, Elaine M. – Psychological Assessment, 1995
This second article of the special section on chaos theory addresses implications of the definition of chaotic behavior for its measurement. The requirements to test the presence of chaotic relations among variables are in agreement with the conceptual and methodological hallmarks of behavioral assessment. (SLD)

Peer reviewedOverholser, James C.; Beck, Steven – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1986
Child molesters, rapists, and three control groups were assessed on measures of heterosocial skills, social anxiety, hostility, impulsivity, and attitudinal variables via role-play and paper-and-pencil measures. Heterosocial skill deficits and specific anxieties and fears were observed in child molesters and rapists. Measures of hostility or…

Peer reviewedWalters, Glenn D.; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1982
Compared the behavioral correlates of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory 4-3 high-point pair and the Overcontrolled-Hostility scale in a sample of university psychology clinic outpatients (N=97). Behavioral correlates of two groups of outpatients were more similar to each other than they were to the group of outpatient controls.…

Peer reviewedBraucht, G. Nicholas; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1978
Examined subgroups of people in relation to specific types of drugs. Multiple drug clusters identified here yielded six basic drug clusters. Typology of drug abusers was developed by proximity cluster analysis. Set of psychosocial measures was differentially related to use of types of drugs and drug abusers. (Author/BEF)
Descriptors: Adults, Behavior Patterns, Classification, Cluster Analysis
Peer reviewedKleiman, Jerry I. – American Journal of Family Therapy, 1981
Investigated the relationship of family structure to psychosocial health in "healthy" and "normal" male adolescents. Families of healthy subjects had significantly more effective parental coalitions and generational boundaries. Suggests the importance of marital transactions for establishing parental coalitions and generational boundaries. (Author)

Peer reviewedStulman, David A.; Dawis, Rene V. – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1976
Two Minnesota Importance Questionnaire (MIQ) scales, Creativity and Independence were validated by experiment. Subjects (N=68) were exposed to four task conditions representing joint combinations of high or low levels of Creativity and Independence. The behavioral results were consistent with the subjects' MIQ score levels on the two scales,…

Peer reviewedLindgren, Scott D. And Others – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1986
Examined cognitive and personality patterns of 84 court-referred adolescents to identify predictors of recurrent delinquent behavior. Peer reviewedKupst, Mary Jo; Schulman, Jerome L. – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1981
Determined the role of the California Psychological Inventory (CPI) in prediction of parental coping with leukemia. None of the standard CPI subscales was a significant predictor of coping. Coping with the specific situation may be a better predictor of later coping with a similar situation than more global assessments. (Author)

Peer reviewedHarari, Oren; Hosey, Karen R. – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1981
Clinicians and nonclinicians made causal attributions to actor behaviors. Analysis showed clear observer attribution bias for both groups. A greater bias occurred with deviant actor behavior and in situations that featured actor actions over opinions over emotions. Results are discussed in terms of applicability to clinical practice. (Author/JAC)

Peer reviewedHeilbrun, Alfred B., Jr.; And Others – Sex Roles: A Journal of Research, 1989
Considers the direct and interactive relationships between three sex role variables and Type A/Type B behavior in college students of both sexes. The following measures were taken: (1) Type A behavior; (2) sex role behavior; (3) gender-schema; and (4) stress. (JS)
