This article examines how inclusive education activities can be facilitated through coaching as a means of professional development. A review of literature on effective professional development practices is discussed, and a recent study focused on individualized peer coaching is examined.

The article considers such issues as the individualized education plan, due process procedures, the least restrictive environment, parent participation, annual reviews, and allocation of federal support. Recent setbacks caused by cutbacks at the California and national level are cited as a result of more recent state and federal rulings. (SB)
