This manual is designed to serve as a companion to the two professional development volumes: Volume I: "Human Development, Culture, and Cognition;" (see ED491608) and Volume II: "Language." (see ED491609) Its purpose is to support the presenter in preparing for and conducting classes or workshops. The manual contains activities and suggested homework assignments, organized by the volume with which they are associated. Each activity has the following components: (1) Recommended Use; (2) Approximate Time Required; (3) Purpose; (4) Instructions to Participants; (5) Suggestions/Background for Presenters (6) Tables or Figures; and (7) Discussion Questions. Appended are: (1) Executive Summaries for Volumes I & II; (2) Tables of Contents for Volumes I & II; (3) List of Figures & Tables for Volumes I & II; and (4) References.
