Several intermediate performance objectives and corresponding criterion measures are listed for each of eight terminal objectives for a family living course for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. The materials were developed for a semester or 1-year course designed to prepare students (1) to exhibit knowledge of the past, present, and future patterns and purpose of the family; (2) to exhibit knowledge of personality development and demonstrate skills in applying this knowledge to his/her own personality development; (3) demonstrate knowledge of the wide variety of careers available to the students, and to develop skills necessary in obtaining and keeping a job; (4) exhibit knowledge of the factors involved in dating, mate selection, and marriage; (5) identify the factors involved in creating a satisfactory marital relationship; (6) recognize and exhibit skills needed to cope with family crises; (7) demonstrate knowledge and skills in money management; and (8) exhibit knowledge of the responsibilities of parenthood. Objectives 3 and 7 would be omitted for the 1-semester course.
