What Do You Like? What Do You Do?: Self Knowledge and Interpersonal Skills. Developmental Level K-3.
Newton, Russel M.
The teaching module is organized to provide students on the K-3 grade level with knowledge, skill, and understanding of self. This module deals with the importance of the students' awareness of personal interests and individual uniqueness in facilitating interpersonal relationships. The first learning sequence focuses on the identification and differentiation of personal interests and contains five activities including group work, demonstrations, and collages. The second and last sequence with four activities (small group and class work) aids the students' comprehension of the influence of interest and taste on activity. Both learning sequences are introduced by: objectives, a sequence overview, and educator's information and preparation tasks. Each activity is described, with suggestions for adaptations for use at different grade levels. (JB)
