Discusses five prevailing theories of learning that deal with the role of action in environmental education programs within a classroom or school. These theories include the information-based theory, behavioral approaches, the community problem solving/action research theory, the integrated approach, and the bonding with nature model. Presents the action learning triangle to demonstrate the integration of learning about, through, and from action. (AIM)
