This book presents science fiction readers theatre scripts for use with grades 4 through 8. The introduction provides information on what readers theatre is and its value, as well as presentation suggestions (e.g., preparing scripts, staging, props, delivery, and post-presentation). Each script includes staging directions and ideas for learning extensions. The 20 scripts are organized in the following sections: (1) "Distant Worlds, Distant Planets"; (2) "Creatures, Real and Otherwise"; (3) "Goos, Brews, and Aliens Too"; (4) "Search for Knowledge"; and (5) "Future World." A resource list of books about readers theatre, sources for additional readers theatre scripts, and Web sites is included. (MES)
