The Funding Process: Grantsmanship and Proposal Development.
Decker, Virginia A.; Decker, Larry E.
Grantsmanship is an organized process for seeking funds from an external funding source to support a desired activity. In large measure, success or failure in receiving funds is determined by the thoroughness with which the process is undertaken and completed. This book outlines the study and care required in each phase of the process: (1) developing the idea, (2) securing information on sources of funds, (3) establishing contact with the funding source, (4) writing the proposal, (5) submitting the proposal, (6) following the proposal through the review procedure, and (7) administering the grant. Appendices provide information on regional collections of foundation information, the location of Federal Information Centers, and the addresses of information sources. (Author/PGD)
