Scottish Schools Science Equipment Research Centre, Bulletin No. 56, June 1972.
A model demonstrating the relationship between the structure of blood vessels and the flow of blood is described and illustrated in the biology section of the newsletter. The apparatus also contains a functional (but not structural) model of the heart. Suggestions for the preparation of a relatively permanent dialysis bag from visking tubing are given, together with notes of suitable osmosis and diffusion experiments. Instructions for the preparation of apparatus for the production of large amplitude stationary waves in vibrating twine, and detailed suggestions for modifications to ballistics carts to facilitate study of the dynamics of collisions are provided for physics teachers. A list of surplus apparatus, available for sale to Scottish Schools from the Scottish Schools Science Equipment Research Centre, and announcements concerning British firms that supply equipment to schools complete the newsletter.
