Copyright and Education. A Guide to the Use of Copyright Material in Educational Institutions. Working Paper No. 8.
National Council for Educational Technology, London (England).
This working paper describes matters of copyright as they relate to teachers in Great Britain who wish to use copyrighted materials. An explanation of the principles of copyright law is followed by statements as to the present conditions of use by teachers of specific copyrighted materials: printed matter, recordings, films and photographs, multimedia kits, and locally produced materials. Alternative courses of action are suggested to simplify the difficulties of the copyright law in relation to usage for educational purposes. Appendixes include statements on the copyright question by a number of concerned organizations, including the British Broadcasting Company, the British Copyright Council, and the British Record Producers Association.
