The directory lists further education courses in Britain for 1968-69 and is organized in three sections: (1) colleges--institutions by geographical area including codes, names, addresses, and telephone numbers; (2) courses--details of each course and codes referring to colleges and (3) college announcements--further details of a number of colleges. Only institutions maintained fully or partially by the state and/or local authorities are listed, the largest of which are technical and commercial colleges concerned with a wide range of vocational courses and closely associated with industry and commerce. Others are colleges of art; agriculture, forestry, and colleges open only to employees of particular organizations. Longer term daytime courses leading to awards and university diplomas, certificates and B. Ed., and degrees outside the university (Council of National Academic Awards and London University external degrees), are explained. The grants available for study are explained as well as sources of advice on educational opportunities. The appendixes include national and regional publications, and employment opportunities.
