Taking Action by Fostering Activism at the Pearl S. Buck House
Toner, Marie; Pharaon, Sarah
Journal of Museum Education, v45 n3 p240-252 2020
By combining creative thinking and proven methodologies, historic homes can change the traditional visitor experience of their spaces, challenge conventional interpretive practices in non-invasive ways, and reap the rewards of visitor interaction. Through the lens of the Pearl S. Buck House, the authors examine a two-year process which transformed a traditional house tour into a dialogic experience that represents the mission of the organization in a more holistic manner.
