Reported are proceedings from an institute on children's learning disabilities (summer, 1972) which involved 60 participants who were directors or teachers in innovative programs, members of the state advisory committee on learning disabilities; and staff from Michigan's educational department. Practices and procedures of programs which had proven most effective with learning disabled children in Michigan were presented in a small rotating group format to enable all participants to hear about "show case" program. Included are a sessions breakdown, and an evaluation based on 26 participants' responses referent to such aspects as future programs' housing, sparse attendance at some sessions, and need for prior notice regarding availability of audiovisual equipment. Included are summaries of presentations which concern resource room procedures, a service delivery system, the funding of learning laboratories, work to keep children in the mainstream of school, academic achievement, prescriptive teaching, a cooperative teacher training/service for resource teachers, and experimental procedures for children with learning disabilities.
