Resource Development of Biopsychosociospiritual Resources to Prevent Teacher Burnout
Amy R. Bell
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, Regent University
Educators are experiencing burnout at higher rates than other professionals. The classroom teacher's role has undergone extreme changes, most notably since the pandemic. Teachers become computer technicians for online schooling, mental health professionals for their students, and investigators to determine why their students are not making gains in the classroom. These new responsibilities have led to many teachers leaving the classroom, due to the development of compassion fatigue leading to burnout. The literature review will examine the number of identified Christians in Georgia and explain how the incorporation of spirituality will aid in increasing resilience in educators. The resource developed will focus on increasing resilience in the educator while determining if compassion fatigue and burnout are leading to the educators distress. This dissertation seeks to create a Christian spiritual self-paced workbook to decrease personal stress in Christian educators.
