This article surveys numbers and types of immigrant children in the provinces of Canada and outlines types of English classes and language programs available to them. Problems include the great variety in quality of classes, organization and funding. (CHK)

A pilot radio series is described which is designed to reach Italian adult newcomers in Ontario who cannot or do not seek the formal education of the English as a second language class. It is assumed that the listener knows some English but does not know how to use it. (SW)
