A model is proposed for implementation of career education programs in schools, described as involving the counselor in: (1) increasing staff awareness of the need for career education; (2) focusing on priorities for implementation of specific programs; (3) assisting in their operation; and (4) facilitating assessment of effectiveness. Describes the development and pilot testing of a marihauna education program for grades 7-10. The five-lesson program included a health belief model and a legal deterrance model. Results of the pilot test showed the health program had the greatest impact. (JAC)
