Nine case-related policy clarification memoranda issued by the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) are summarized in this booklet. Each memorandum deals with issues related to equal educational opportunities. Each summary consists of a question that defines the relevant issue, a statement of pertinent facts, the decision made by OCR regarding the issue, and a statement pertaining to the legal basis for the decision. The decisions were based on Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, or Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
