Prepared to familiarize educators with the wide variety of materials available for environmental education, this bibliography and resource guide lists curriculum materials which would be useful in kindergarten through adult levels of education. To facilitate use of the guide, it is divided into seven sections: (1) Books--dealing with environmental topics, primarily for teacher background information; (2) Journal Articles--selected from professional education journals and popular periodicals, emphasizing education and the environment; (3) Multimedia Materials--each kit is described briefly giving its contents, purpose, recommended grade level, cost, and publisher; (4) Periodicals--both those devoted specifically to environmental topics and those that usually carry articles on environmental issues and problems; (5) Sources for Free and Inexpensive Materials--lists organizations and the materials they will provide free or at low cost to school districts; (6) Film Guide--16mm films that can be borrowed at little or no cost; notes a brief description of the content, color or black and white, length, free or rental, rental cost, source, and grade level; this section is also indexed separately by grade level and environmental topic; and (7) Program and Materials Evaluation Criteria--a form to rate materials.
