Documentation of Successful Linkage Efforts and Activities and Evaluation of Transferability of Efforts and Activities. (Priority 3).
Virginia Polytechnic Inst. and State Univ., Blacksburg.
This study was conducted to document successful linkage efforts and activities between education agencies and the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) programs. To identify successful linkage efforts, a nomination questionnaire was initially sent to educational institutions; prime sponsors; state agencies active in employment, training, and education; other state agencies; state CETA/education councils; and organizations that were knowledgeable in the employment and training area. Additional instruments were developed for identifying those elements needed in facilitating coordination and linkage. Among the results reported by educational institutions responding was that the summer youth programs, programs for in-school youth, full classroom training, and the individual classroom training referral slot program were the predominantly funded programs through the governmental agencies. (Survey forms are appended along with the on-site interview narratives.) (LRA)
