A project was conducted to evaluate the extent to which educators and Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) prime sponsors have been able to coordinate successfully their activities. Data were gathered through a survey of select Virginia administrators, planners, and advisory council members located in state agencies and public and private interest groups. In addition, a nomination survey was developed for the purpose of collecting preliminary information obtained from joint CETA/education activities at the local level. Of those responding to the nomination survey, 70 percent of the county public school districts stated that they are either actively engaged in programs with CETA prime sponsors or have funded slots for personnel on their staff. Among the findings of the state-level survey was joint planning is viewed as essential to identifying community needs and for planning future programs. Although all individuals interviewed expressed the need for joint planning, concrete suggestions for implementing this planning effort could not be given. (Survey forms are appended.) (LRA)
