The second volume of this three-part report presents the findings of a study of faculty development programs in the three segments of California public higher education: the University of California, California State University, and the California Community Colleges. This volume is comprised of the following sections: study background and purpose; definition and measurement of faculty development; faculty development at the University of California (programs, expenditures, and participation in instruction-related faculty development); faculty development at California State University (programs, expenditures, and participation in instruction-related faculty development); faculty development at the California Community Colleges (programs, expenditures, and participation in instruction-related faculty development); and perceived needs for faculty development (by faculty and administrators).
