These four books are intended for use by individuals who need numeracy instruction as well as by those who help such individuals. Explanations are offered of how to do a large variety of calculations; different methods of getting the right answer are also provided. Book 1 focuses on numbers, how they are written, what they mean, how they are organized, counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and place value. Book 2 provides more advanced work on addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Topics covered in Book 3 include fractions, decimals, and percentages. Book 4 deals with measurement of time and distance, money, the metric system, and using a calculator. The books contain a mix of informative material and problems and exercises. (YLB)
