Examines differences among Black, Hispanic, and White doctoral students at four major universities. Black and Hispanic students still experience discrimination. Blacks receive the fewest teaching or research assistantships. Recommends more financial aid, assistantships, and compensatory intervention for minority group doctoral students. (DM)
