Examines causes and effects of teacher stress. Discusses (1) security--safety from loss of job or income, from bodily harm, and from criticism of one's values; (2) sociability--giving and receiving affection, and compatability; and (3) status--feelings of self-esteem, social worth, and prestige and standing in the profession.
