The need for extra-curricular activity to supplement Italian classroom learning is discussed. Five programs are described which focus on individual needs and active student participation. These include: tutorial work; language laboratory use; independent study; group activities, and work with the Italian community. (AM)

The development of a health fair project, through which older Americans were given health screening tests and health education instruction, is described. The project, sponsored by a multidisciplinary gerontology program at Oregon State University, combined service to the aging with applied learning opportunities for college students. (PP)

Describes a field experience project where students traveled to the Concordia Language Villages, Moorhead, Minnesota, for a one-day conference. Prior to the conference students researched school systems in other countries and assumed the roles of representatives. They then worked towards a consensus for an ideal school. (MJP)
