Owens, Delila; Bodenhorn, Nancy; Bryant, Rhonda M.
Journal of School Counseling, v8 n17 2010
The study examined the relationship between school counselor self efficacy and perceived multicultural competence self efficacy in a sample of 157 school counselors. Results reveal School Counselor Self-Efficacy (SCSE) cultural acceptance subscale was a statistically significant predictor of all three multicultural competencies (MCC: Terminology, Knowledge, and Awareness) scales. Results also indicate that school counselors' years of experience was a significant predictor in all three MCC scales (Terminology, Knowledge, and Awareness). Implications of the findings are discussed. (Contains 1 table.)
