This qualitative case study was focused on the edTPA implementation at an urban institution of higher education in the state of New Jersey during the first consequential semester of teacher preparation licensure and credentialing over the fall 2017 semester. This examination encompassed how the participation in an online community, the shared collaboration and experiences of teacher preparation/clinical faculty members and clinical interns through the creation of a community of practice contributed to the successful completion of the edTPA. Data were collected through the stakeholders' participation in an online community, semistructured focus group interviews of clinical interns, as well as individual semistructured interviews of teacher preparation and clinical faculty members. Data analysis was conducted through ongoing open coding to reveal themes and subthemes which were aligned to the research questions. Findings indicated that students who participated in the online community were prepared for the edTPA through the real time access to information and the collaboration of all stakeholders. In addition, findings provided evidence to support the face-to-face support sessions as the most effective contribution to the successful completion of the edTPA through the shared collaboration and experiences of stakeholders. Furthermore, the creation of a community of practice can be identified as an effective tool to aid clinical interns in the successful completion of the edTPA, if all stakeholders have a shared vision of its value and worth to the community. Implications for future practice include the continuous and ongoing research of this topic to enrich the existing framework of best practices for edTPA implementation within the recommended time frame deemed necessary for success.
