Major Societal Changes in U.S. (1933-44 and 1945-75): Contextual Mapping.
Glover, R. H.
The College Entrance Examination Board Advisory Panel on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) Score Decline considered various changes in American society as a possible cause of the downward trend in SAT scores that has occurred each year since 1963. For a span of 42 years (1933-75), a fold-out chart displays major events and influences on events, products, and other phoenomena, suggesting their interconnectedness in graphic form. Trends in the following areas are covered: political, social and cultural, economic and financial, legislative and legal, population and human ecology, and knowledge and technology. A projected scenario for the period 1976-85 is also included. (Author/EVH)
