Performance by School District Categories and Individual School Districts, Grade 7. Preliminary Report. Texas Educational Assessment of Minimum Skills (TEAMS).
Texas Education Agency, Austin.
This report presents the performance for school district categories and for individual school districts on the seventh grade Texas Educational Assessment of Minimum Skills (TEAMS) test. The Grade 7 criterion-referenced test contained three sections: mathematics, reading, and writing. Testing was conducted during February 1986. This report is in two sections. Section I contains performance information grouped by categories within 17 characteristics of school districts, such as size and wealth. Section II contains student performance for each school district in the state. Districts are arranged in alphabetical order. Student performance results are presented as the percentages of students in each reporting group (district and category of districts) who passed each section of the test and those who passed all tests taken. In addition, predicted national percentile ranks are displayed along with the numbers of students requiring remediation for each district and district group. The predicted national percentiles were constructed in a 1985 pilot study which compared the performance of Texas seventh graders on the TEAMS tests with the performance of students in other parts of the nation on the Metropolitan Achievement Test, Sixth Edition.
