Complementing the instructional and assessment activities of the fine arts strand of unit five for second graders, this packet provides visual materials to aid the teacher in presenting the activities described in the teacher's guide. Materials for class activities are presented along with seatwork for individual students. Four Spanish songbooks accompany the supplement, and Cassette 17-20 provides a recorded version of the musical selections used (available separately from the Dissemination Center). Illustrations are provided to help stimulate oral language and conceptual development. Among the illustrations are scenes from songs, diagrams for rhythm band work, maps, pictures of organs, dance steps, representations of melodic contours, and a series of scenes from the story of Hansel and Gretel. The ditto packet provides ditto masters for developing awareness and auditory perceptions of environmental sounds, matching musical sounds and noises to pictures, perceiving contrasts in sound intensity, and working with melodic contours. Seatwork activities are designed for presentation under supervision rather than as individual tasks. Materials for classroom use are in Spanish. (DS)
